For details, see Schedule tasks with WorkManager. Another option is to use the new WorkManager API, which is built to perform background work either once or periodically. To guarantee that alarms execute even if the device is idle, use setAndAllowWhileIdle() or setExactAndAllowWhileIdle(). When a device is in Doze mode (idle), scheduled alarms are deferred until the device exits Doze.
